Loving: Laid-Back Camp

This week has been frighteningly hot and humid. It's the kind of weather that makes me long for the cooler, crisper days of my favorite season, Fall. So it totally makes sense that my television viewing would veer towards a show that embraces the loveliness that colder weather offers. Enter, Laid-Back Camp.

It's a show about a group of high school girls who enjoy camping. And honestly, that's it. It's relaxing and soothing. The animation is STUNNING, the soundtrack makes your heart soar, and watching the adventures of the group as they learn new camping skills is inspiring. Plus each episode has camping tips, and features campgrounds actually found in Japan, which is great for someone like me who is trying to familiarize herself with more of the country.

To be honest, I never realized that I enjoyed anime until I started watching this and Shirokuma Cafe. I always associated anime with shows like Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon, which never did it for me. But I've since learned that there are all different types of anime, and watching ones like Laid-Back Camp make me feel like I'm wrapping myself in a warm blanket.

Laid-Back Camp (as well as Shirokuma Cafe) is available - with English subtitles - for free on Crunchyroll. Check it out!
