I realize it's been quite awhile since I've written in the space. To be completely transparent, motivation has been really tough for me lately, and not just here. I feel like I'm driving a car that has lots of pep and gas, but that I can only drive around in circles. My ability to focus on just about anything is non-existent and I feel like I'm waiting for something to happen, but I have no idea what that something is.
It's weird, and unsettling, and more than a little frustrating. I haven't decided if this is something to worry about (yet), or if I'm just experiencing a feeling that many people are having right now as we move from pandemic life to something that resembles our old lives. I don't know about you, but I'm not entirely sold on that old life. I'm not convinced that I want to go back to normal, or anything that even resembled it. I'm not sure it was healthy or sustainable or desirable. So I think part of what I'm feeling is a natural anxiety about what happens next.
Anyway, here are some interesting things I stumbled across this week...
+ This article captures a bit of how I'm feeling lately and the non-desire for a return to "normal" that many of us are feeling.
+ Some of these "house rules" additions to popular games made me laugh and seem like great ways to spice up your boardgames!
+ A friend and I booked a few days away at a Getaway House, and I absolutely can't wait to check it out!
+ Tor has released the cover art for Zin Rocklyn's upcoming novella, Flowers for the Sea! Rocklyn's short story The Night Sun was an accidental discovery for me earlier this year, and it blew me away. So I'm very excited for their upcoming book!
And that's all this for this round. Hope you have a great week!
