1. It's been awhile since I've done one of these! Need to get back on the blogging train...
2. Horrified by the news these days. How do we make things better? How do we learn to love and care for one another again? One thing I think about again and again during times like this is something that Ross Gay said during a reading of his I attended (and I'm paraphrasing) - "The powers that be will try to convince you that we aren't capable of taking care of one another. But we can and we do. We do it in small ways every day. From holding doors open for one another, to offering a smile to someone who needs it, to picking up something someone dropped and handing it back to them. We do it all the time. Don't fall into the trap of believing we're not capable of caring deeply for one another, in big and small ways."
3. Spent the weekend in Louisville, KY and was pleasantly surprised! Had some challenges as a vegan and someone who doesn't like bourbon (!), but I found my way. Everyone was beyond nice, the Muhammad Ali Center was incredible, and whizzing around on e-scooters with my brother was a highlight.
4. Attended WakandaCon last weekend, and just like last year, it was such a delight! Really hope they can keep it going.
5. The week ahead is busy, but mostly with fun things!
6. Work on my project is chugging along. Full announcement is still a few months off, but everything's moving full speed ahead, and I'm excited!
