We're just now starting to feel a bit of spring weather around these parts, so I thought it was the perfect time to talk about my Spring Bucket List! I've taken a liking to seasonal bucket lists. It keeps me cognizant of the seasons - I know that sounds weird, but sometimes things move so quickly that I forget to truly appreciate what each season has to offer - and it helps me fill up each season with things to look forward to.
Winter was my time of rest and reflection, and now that it's slowly moving on, I feel like I'm ready to move on as well. Here are a few things I'd like to do...
1. Close my photography business.
Speaking of moving on, it's time to draw things to a close on this. I've had a good run and I'm proud of the work I've completed! Photography is still a very important part of who I am, so there'll be no lack of shooting personal work. But I'm ready to make room for another biz idea I have in mind, and I'm very excited for what the future holds!
2. Get Octavia out for a few rides.
In case you don't know, Octavia is my beautiful bike that I picked up last Spring. I didn't get to ride her quite as much as I'd hoped last season. There were a lot of reasons why - health, weather, and plain old anxiety. This year I hope to do more riding and build more confidence in myself and my ability to navigate the city by two wheels. I really look up to a friend of mine who treats her bike like a car.
3. Start planning some summer fun.
For some reason I'm the absolute worst with this and always wait until we're in the thick of summer to start planning summer weekends away. By that point it's often too late to book camp sites/cabins, etc. This Spring I'd like to be a bit more proactive and try to plan a few local getaways for the summer. Nothing fancy!
4. Do more work on my other biz.
Yeah, I know this is super vague and SMART goals blabbity blah blah blah. Trust that on a personal level I have specific bullet points of things I want to get done. I'm just being vague at this point because I'm not *quite* ready to talk publicly about what I have in the works. But there are exciting things on the horizon!
5. Document daily life more more. Find more delight.
I tend to forget that in lieu of carrying my mirrorless camera, or my Olympus 35, the iphone camera - which I almost always have in tow - is pretty decent and I can use that. Taking more snapshots of daily life needs to become A Thing. Beautiful sunset? Time with a good friend? A great meal? Document it.
6. Blog more.
Oh, haaaaiiii! That fact that probably no one reads this thing shall not deter me. Writing is therapeutic for me, and the more I do it, the better I feel. So I hope to be around these parts more.
