Hi friends! So, I’ve decided to separate my biz blog and personal blog. Initially, Abbott Lane was meant to serve as both, because I really wanted past and potential clients to see me as a whole person, and not just a photographer.
But I’ve decided to change things up. Why? Well, to be honest, I miss the old school days of blogging! Of course the Internet has changed goo gobs in the last decade. I’m under no illusion that there’s some Golden Re-emergence of Blogging on the horizon (though the recent news about Facebook will probably jumpstart some sort of social shift about where and how folks share their personal lives...I think it will borrow some elements from old school blogging, but not everything), but I missed having a personal space to write about my life - the good and the bad and the whole of it.
In an effort to keep things professional, I felt like my blog was losing a bit of me - the Me that was sometimes messy and opinionated and silly. It was beginning to feel distinctly impersonal and that just wasn’t working for me anymore. I also began to think that potential clients probably don’t care about my personal life, and would much rather see what they’re interested in - posts about my photography, more than anything else.
So I’ve decided to create a new journal right on my photography business page, geared towards clients, and Abbott Lane will continue forward as a more personal space. Don’t worry though, photography will still be featured prominently here, because it’s something I just do. But I’m hoping to write about lots of other things too!
